Eschborn - Top location
The rapid economic growth of the Rhine-Main area, the city’s good infrastructure and last but not least its sustainable tax policy: Eschborn owes its development into a successful business location to a variety of factors!
Since the 1960s, Eschborn – which, by the way, looks back at more than 1,200 years of history – has undergone an impressive development. While the number of inhabitants has increased ten-fold to about 21,000, the number of jobs multiplied by 200 in the same period. Today, Eschborn is a modern international office centre at the heart of the Rhine-Main-Taunus triangle, and leading in the Main-Taunus area with more than 30,000 workplaces.
But the city, located amidst green countryside, has also improved the quality of housing and established an outstanding infrastructure: in line with the economic development, attractive housing estates, new schools, sports facilities, kindergardens, playgrounds and parks were built as well. Families are additionally supported with free-of-charge daycare places and financial support towards childcare services. A broad range of more than 100 clubs and cultural institutions offer plenty of leisure activities. And finally, great local shopping facilities ensure that it is possible to strike a good work-life-balance here. Ideal traffic connections are another contributing factor. Located centrally in Germany, the whole Rhine-Main area benefits from its convenient location: the A 66 (Wiesbaden – Frankfurt) and A 5 (Hanover – Basel) motorways are only about 1.5 kilometres away, the A 3/A 5 junction is about 12 kilometres away. It is about 15 kilometres to Frankfurt Airport, and the S-Bahn takes its passengers straight into the Frankfurt city centre, where many ICE train connections set off. “Of course we benefit from our location immediately next to Frankfurt”, Mathias Geiger says. But the city’s fast rise to an economic centre was not only due to its ideal geographic situation. Rather, the attractiveness of the city and its business premises are based on several factors: fair prices for renting or buying industrial or commercial property and a business-friendly trade tax rate of 280 percentage points make sure the climate for investments is friendly. Reliable local politics, a fast decision-making process and intelligent planning also act in favour of drawing up-and-coming businesses to Eschborn.
